    Pros +

    • The beautiful setting in nature with trees and the river right there. It was Lovely to have the animals - elephants coming to bathe each day, sheep, ducks, chickens and cats added a special atmosphere
    • Set right on the banks of the River Kwai, you could not ask for a more idyllic location.
    • The food was great and good value, the chalet room was clean

    Cons -

    • Some of the accommodation is in need of repair and update
    • The chalet style cabins look like they've seen better days. Its understandable that nature tends to eat man-made things in this part of the world, but patch-up work on bathroom elements seemed perfunctory and a bit shoddy. A broken shower attachment did not help.
    • Sadly a very dated facility, all of the fixtures and fittings are very tired, the restaurant and bar close at 8pm which is strange, the chalet had very basic equipment the TV is a museum piece, as are the bathroom facilities, however they where all very clean, no bugs etc,

We booked to have one night here during our trip in Kanchanburi because we had read you can watch the elephants bathing - there is an ethical sanctuary next door.It was amazing watching them enjoy their session in the river with no intervention from tourists Other facilities could do with some updating but were satisfactory

The place was very quiet and tranquil in the middle of the forest. The room was clean and we were given two adjoining rooms for us and the children. Breakfast was included which is always a bonus. We loved the fact we saw elephants going swimming everyday.

The view is stunning, the place is very quiet and pastoral, you can park your car next to the room, great staff.

The location is far from the center, very dark and unpleasant at night, rooms a bit old.

    Disappointing

    1. The day reach resort out of Wifi connection, so i had a clear communication do not charge the credit card due to additional 3 to 5 percentage fee, offer my second master card. But the staff use first credit card for the payment.2. The breakfast served without any hospitality

It's a huge derelict overextended disaster and there was absolutely nothing to like

I booked in for four nights and checked out after one night.Couldn't stay it was just so soulless and depressing.Everything about this place is sad tired disappointing!!!

The Hotel is absolutely gorgeous, full of trees, plants and flowers. The space is gigantic, you can see the elephant in the afternoon everyday at no charge. It feels like you are in the middle of a jungle surrounded by tall trees, wildlife and the river ...The food is excellent and the staff is very nice. Thanks ?

The only thing that was really average were the bed and the pillows

    7BrianPosted on: 2-5-2025

Rural and secluded, (we only stayed 2 nights)Elephants were the attraction

The property is in some state of disrepair, presumably due to being a 30 minutes drive to town, and therefore reasonable restaurants.

This place is magic. The nature, the silence, the peace.... The elephants passing through the resort at 3.30pm to go bathing in the river...We had a walk in the countryside around the resort, the local people were smiling and waving their hands at us... Everyone so happy!!!In front of the resort's gate there is a restaurant, the old lady cooks Thai food, it's very tasty and cheap!!Breakfast at the resort was very good!!!!I loved everything and I'm so happy to have choosen this place for a night!

Staff not too friendly, but they were polite!!!

A wonderful place created by mindful people. The area is vast, and the foundation dedicated to rescuing elephants is truly remarkable. The breakfasts are hearty, and there’s a stunning view of the river. We highly recommend the Samboon Legacy Foundation operating in the area. The swimming pool is fantastic!

Restaurants staff were very friendly.View from the restaurants were very pleasant, looking across the river.Seeing the elephants washing and playing in the river was the top experiences for our stay.

We stayed 2 nights. We've found Admin staff was very inexperience and was not friendly. We did not get what we've asked for, for our room. The room was very stuffy and smelly. We've put the complaint in but they couldn't change the room for us as it was fully booked, instead the housemaid went to spray the room for us. Unfortunately it was still very stuffy, We have to complain again in the morning, and luckily they've changed our room.

Everything...its very laid back which we do really like about it.we enjoy the morning bicycle rides around the property...the breakfast is very good...we watch the elephant taking a bath...we dip in a pool for a couple of hours...a lovely stay...location is just far but worth to stay...

ambience. setting . restaurant . room

staff charged 1000 thb on checkout due to spot of blood on one bedsheets. tried to explain that the abundance of mosquitos on site caused the bites and room had many mosquitos. didn't agree and charged 1000 extra to wash the sheets. disappointing end

Pool was great even a hot tub area food is so good and staff amazing and to top it off elephants that we didn’t realise when we booked could have stayed long as so good

Little run down in some areas but they are working on sorting but still recovering after Covid and being shut

Peace and quiet. Nice setting and pool was good.

Whole place looking a bit passed it's best. Could do with a good renovation.

By the river and beautiful property. A few of the staff were extremely kind and sweet.

    The loud music

    3PaulaPosted on: 8-25-2024

    The location.

The rooms smelt strongly of mould and the shower was very dirty.
